On our walking tour, you will visit the streets and walls of Wynwood, learn about the story from an art & local expert and enjoy locally brewed beer. We start off by strolling through some of the most interesting streets of Wynwood and see dozens of murals by world renowned artists like Shepard Fairey and El Mac. Wynwood is now drawing visitors as the largest outdoor "museum" in the world due to the hundreds of murals covering the walls, and it is now a neighbourhood filled with dozens of fine restaurants, unique shops, and more. We have been here since the early days when the area was filled with crooked sidewalks, auto shops fixing cars in the streets, and shuttered warehouses; when visitors came only for the once-monthly art walk. You will learn about the story of Wynwood with the insight of the eye-witness and the personal experiences that one collects over time. I will tell you stories about the artists whose work we enjoy, some local, many international, and explore the contradiction of spray-paint as art and how taggers still stake their claim. We will talk about different techniques and styles and visit the Wynwood Walls and you will see the dynamic transformation of Wynwood first-hand, and I will be there to give you context.
