Co budeš dělat

I'd advise you to come with a light meal or early dinner - just enough so that you aren't starving but would definitely build up an appetite over time. There is a lot of food in this experience.

We will start with hand-churned fruit ice creams at the Mozamjahi market and Turkish-inspired Halwa from a 100-year old establishment across the street. Sated, we will walk over to the Yousufain Dargah for their Thursday night Qawwali (Sufi musical incantation) presentation. They usually run pretty late into the night - we typically spend 1:30-2:00 hours here to catch a couple of the performing troupes.

Once done, we will walk over to one of the sleeping eateries (beyond business hours and letting us in through a side entrance) close by for a round of dinner (if you do not eat chicken/meat, this will not work out for you).

We will call it a night (or talk more into the morning if you are up for it) here and I can offer to drop you back to your accommodation if you are unfamiliar with the city.

There are no rules or strict items covered in this experience. This is not something I am doing for its lucrative benefits. If you would like to make a new friend and experience the city like an average local does, and are OK with being around people, I am certain you will like this experience.

Hello - I am an independent professional and travel/art/culture/food enthusiast living in Hyderabad (when I am not traveling) for more than a decade. I have believed in and lived the spirit of a cohesive, integrative and inclusive community for the most part of my life. I'd love to meet and know about your thoughts and stories and tell you some of mine.

I have hosted my friends and travelers (on another travel community/platform) coming to Hyderabad for these tours umpteen times and I am glad AirBnb Experiences have finally come to Hyderabad.

I am fascinated by anything a city can offer its people late at nights in public places (living in New York City opened that vista for me) and decided to host this experience that will help fellow-nocturnals walk around and experience Hyderabad in a unique way.

Thank you for your time.
-Samarjit.

Kde budeš

We will assemble at Gandhi Bhavan Metro Station at 11 PM. Walk over (250 m) to the Mozamjahi Market complex for ice cream and halwa. Walk over to the Dargah Yousufain (1.5 km - we can hail an auto-rickshaw if it is too much). After the Jumma Raat (Thursday night) Qawwali performance, we will walk to an adjacent eatery (250 m - 1.25 km) for dinner. You can book a cab to drop you back to your home afterwards.

This tour was the highlight of our time in Hyderabad. Great food, great entertainment, culturally significant, met a new friend. Really enjoyed our time.

If you could pick just one experience in Hyderabad, let this be it. I had a wonderful time exploring the lesser known side of this city with Samarjit. It's less of a guided tour and more of exploring a new city with a new friend. Apart from following the itinerary itself, we even talked a lot about our experiences of life. There's a lot of walking around and I really enjoyed strolling through the streets so late at night. The visit to the dargah as well as qawwali there is absolutely mesmerizing. And last but not the least, there is indeed a lot of food included. We sampled the amazing ice-creams and halvas at the start. He then obliged me with a refreshing cup of irani chai before we entered the dargah. We eventually wrapped up the night by digging into some amazing and absolutely filling main course dishes. Find out what they are by taking this experience for yourself!

I was worried about going on this tour so late as a solo female traveller but I found it very safe. Samarjit answered all my questions to help me feel comfortable before the tour. The area is not somewhere you would normally got to on an official tour. The Qawalli Music was amazing to see. Make sure you wear socks since you have to be barefoot. If you want a unique experience, book this tour!

I liked the fact that the walk had a simple structure. The activities were loosely tied together which allowed me to observe, think, question and pursue them further. Samarjit is also very accommodating and thoughtful. He’d constantly check to see if you’re doing okay, and you’d find yourself easily warming up to him.

Samarjit has realized a great idea in his tour. Something you won’t experience on your own. Definitely something you’ll remember. Thanks Samarjit!
