Paper collage Pet and self Portraits . Everyone loves their dog or cat, so in this class you can create a memorable portrait. In this online class the participants will use a photo of their dog or cat and then use it as a basis for then creating a portrait. From a simple drawing or black and white photocopy on paper or card , I will show how I slowly create a portrait , cut and tear pieces of paper , card , magazine to build up and abstract likeness. i can answer questions as we go and I think you will be amazed by the results.
If you want a different time for the class I’m flexible

Make sure you have materials at hand and ready before you start the class.
If you have time to draw the dog beforehand thats even better .
Its probably best taking part in this experience using a tablet or computer.

I loved our experience with Martin. It was a great activity to do with my Mom since we couldn't see each other in person over the holidays this year. Martin taught me some new techniques I hadn't tried before, and I loved seeing the examples of his work that he shared with us during the call. More than anything, it is so nice to connect with people from different backgrounds who are living across the world. If you're into collaging or interested in trying it, I would definitely recommend connecting with Martin!

Martin is great at creating a friendly and relaxing vibe, while encouraging guests to learn, develop and or refine artistic abilities. In my case, I feel like it was a chance to learn a new hobby or craft. I didn't have, nor did I need, the slightest artistic skill, but in the end I was really pleased with what he helped me create! This very much lent itself to the Zoom format too. I loved that our class represented NY, Chicago, the UK and Barcelona ... all creating art together during a time of lock down. Excellent!

This was a fun and fairly easy class for the whole family. The collage turned out much better than I thought it would! Thank you for introducing me to this new technique! Highly recommend that you get the right kind of glue (as suggested by Martin) - I used a glue stick that was not optimal but the collage still came out great. Fun way to spend some time with my niece on a creative project.
