Co budeš dělat
We will go on a trail around 27 acre D'Jango Hill Farm while each person hikes with a haltered alpaca on a rope lead . We will meet in the large Tuscan inspired barn, where our horses and mammoth donkey, friendly Jack, live. You will be introduced to the alpacas and given a short talk regarding their care and handling. After assigning each person an alpaca, we will start our trek. The trail starts across a bridge, up a wooded ravine and then along the fence line to the adjacent 2,000 acre cattle ranch where you will see beautiful vistas of the surrounding hills , mountains and Carmel Valley. After stopping for light refreshments under a large oak tree, we will loop around before going back downhill to the barn. The trail back will go past horse, alpaca and goat pastures and more views of the Camel Valley. There will be ample opportunities to engage with your furry friends and take photos of the landscape as well as the alpacas.
Other things to note
Must be able to physically walk/hike up a moderately sloped trail. Wear proper shoes for hiking. Running shoes/sneakers are ok. We will still go on the trek if there is light rain-so if this is the forecast bring umbrellas/ponchos. Be sure to bring your camera or smartphone to take lots of photos!

Bonnie and Michael, both veterinarians, moved to L. A. in 1991. After a trip along scenic CA HWY 1, a fantasy to retire to a farm on the beautiful central coast transpired. We sold our veterinary practices in L.A. and in 2015 we moved to D'Jango Hill Farm, named after our rescue dog. The farm is home to a menagerie of animals, many of them rescues: a herd of alpacas, several horses, a mammoth donkey, giant tortoises, chickens, goats, pigs and a handsome ram rescued as a baby from a livestock auction, as well as a few dogs and cats! Bonnie is eager to share her hobby and passion for these adorable, quirky camelids. From yearly shearing, toenail trims, breeding and raising "crias" (baby alpacas), she has come to cherish her time with these incredible animals. We are eager to share our experience so you too can fall in love with alpacas!

Kde budeš
D'Jango Hill Farm is a unique combination of rescued animals (pigs, tortoises, dogs, cats, sheep, goats) as well as horses, chickens and a donkey nestled in the surrounding hills, mountains and valley. The barn where we meet the alpacas is a beautiful Tuscan inspired building (frequently mistaken for a house!). As you lead your furry alpaca friends on our farm trail, you will pass through a wooded ravine and emerge to stunning vistas.

Bonnie and her husband were so sweet and amazing hosts/guides! They started off the experience by teaching us everything to know about alpacas- they were so knowledgeable! After that we were paired up with the alpacas, and went on a walk/hike through Bonnie's property which was gorgeous and scenic. The alpacas were ADORABLE and so sweet!! Halfway through the hike we got to feed the alpacas, take pictures, and take a quick break where Bonnie and her husband provided snacks and drinks. At the end of the walk, we got to meet all of their other furry friends, including donkeys, sheep, other alpacas, tortoises, and horses.
My friends and I loved how kind, helpful, and knowledgeable Bonnie and her husband were! They were also quick to help any of us while walking the alpacas, and made us feel so comfortable the entire experience! To top if all off, Bonnie provided cupcakes since it was my friend's birthday! We were so lucky to have this experience with Bonnie and her husband- you can tell how much they care and love their furry animals. This is a must-do experience!

We had such an amazing day at the alpaca ranch. The ranch is absolutely beautiful. It exceeded everything and anything we expected. We bonded with our individual alpacas and met other animals along the way. The hosts were so gracious and provided snacks as well as history lessons. We really felt at home but also like we knew all about the alpacas lives. Couldn’t recommend this more!

Such fun!! Bonnie was great, from the moment we arrived until we left. Totally manageable little hike - you don’t even realize you’re trekking uphill the first half, because your focus is on the adorable alpaca in your hand! So cool to stop and have a snack, take selfies with the ‘fuzzy ladies’, feed them a snack too, while taking in the spectacular views. Bonnie and her husband know so much and are happy to share their knowledge and answer any questions along the trek. We also got to visit with the horses, pigs and donkey! Such a unique adventure.
