This is a very special activity for all of us - guides, visitors, workers and grandmothers! Planned during more than a year, here we have our second activity of a community-based tourism project: this time promoting the active ageing of our beloved 'grannies of the sea'! We will start this activity with a walking tour in Trafaria, the oldest fishing village of Lisbon area, a very humble place and the first official beach in PT. Nowadays this place is mostly famous because of its seafood, but we found and will show you the magic beyond: we will visit a local organization, meet locals along our way to the social centre, the place where we will meet and cook with the cutest grannies ever. The Social Centre of Trafaria is a multi-generation eco-instituition where you have people from 0 to +100 years old. There we will have the opportunity to get know a very old organization of Portugal, listen delicious life stories close to the sea. In short, understand how good institutional practices can be done and spread over the world through a touristic experience. You will feel home and remember how grannies are important in our lives. They cook with love. We learn from them.
