Co budeš dělat
Our shop is a typical Kyoto townhouse which is built in 100 years ago We will welcome you to our cozy kimono shop. We'll introduce each other and then show you our kimono collections. Although our kimono patterns may seem a little calm, they are rare and unique patterns not found in other shops. Please enjoy these kimono patterns and how to match their belts. From late June to early September, you can experience the "yukata"—the summer kimono. Depending on the season, we have to wear the right kimono pattern and obi sash. We really respect the beauty of kimono fashion and I will explain this while you enjoy choosing your garment. Once you decide the best one for the day, I will help you to dress up nicely. The way of tying the obi—belt—is called "otaiko," which is a traditional knotting method that's rarely done at other shops. After we're done, I will teach you how to walk and behave like the "hannari"—bright and elegant Kyotites. Then, please take a walk through the town of Kyoto, feeling and respecting its traditions. If you would like to know our favorite shops and restaurants, please don't hesitate to ask us. We will be happy to give you some advice.
My parents run a Japanese ryokan—hotel—and I have worked there for about 20 years. As I always wore kimonos as my uniform, I started to collect them and still love wearing them—and now I have over 100. After I quit my job, my partner Hiroshi and I started a small kimono shop in Kyoto, and through it, we'd like you to step into Japanese traditions and culture. I mainly work as a kimono dresser and Hiroshi is a buyer, as we also sell Kawaii knickknacks. We are so excited about sharing kimono culture and want you to learn the proper way to wear it. Shop Instagram, wagan_kyoto check it please(^_^)b

Our shop is next to Heian Shrine, a famous sightseeing spot, and Eikando, famous for its autumn leaves. Nanzenji, Konkaikomyoji—also known as Kurodani—and Shogoin Temples are also very close. Many cultural facilities are in the Sakyo-ku Okazaki area, including an art museum, library, and zoo. Although our shop is small, you can relax like it's home. We don't carry lots of kimonos—about 100 for women, 20 for men—but they are rare and hard to find.
