Co budeš dělat

You can making Matcha and Kyo-Machiya (unique traditional wooden house) tour in this experience. Nowadays this type of house have been changed to modern house so, it's a good opportunity for you to experience it here.
At first, I will offer you a simplified guidance for the tea-making procedure called bonryaku temae. We will use a tray and you can do this temae on the table. This is usually the first step of sado for students because it is easy to learn and it's a useful procedure. I'll give a demonstration of bonryaku temae. You'll then prepare your own Matcha by using a bamboo whisk and I will teach you about the formal drinking manners. However there are many strict rules and manner in Sado,
I just want you to enjoy making Matcha !
After the experience, we'll walk around this 100-year-old townhouse called Kyo-Machiya and take pictures. This house is a very special house because we remained the original architecture since 100 years ago. For example, Mushikomado, Inuyarai, Toriniwa and so on. I'll tell you an interesting story about these architectures. Don't miss your chance to see it by yourself!

I was born and raised in Kyoto. I used to be a manager at a guesthouse in Kyoto, where I noticed that many foreigners had an interest in Japanese culture. I wasn't into this in the beginning, but the more I learned and showed to my guests, the more I became fascinated by the world of tea ceremony. In sado, harmonization and trust between the host and guest is very important. This is the spirit of bonryaku temae, and I'd like to share this philosophy with you through this experience.
Also I want to show you Kyo-machiya. Kyo-machiya is unique traditional wooden house, which is deeply rooted in the culture of Kyoto over 1200 years. 50,000 of them still remain in the city, but the number is decreasing about 2% every year due to urban redevelopment. So, it is rare opportunity to enter this kind of house.

Kde budeš

We're located at the Kissako Wazuka cafe . This house is a very special because it still has the original architecture from over 100 years ago.The house's exterior is characterized by Mushiko-mado; a type of window containing mushiko goshi lattice and bamboo Inuyarai to protect the lower malls. Both the interior and exterior have many notable characteristics. Unfortunately, the number of houses of this type are decreasing so come and enjoy!

Michiyo 女士是茶道方面的专家,在学习茶道基本功以后,她还很详细地带我们参观了这座保留良好的日本传统建筑。这是个不容错过的体验!

We had a great time and also learnt a lot about Japanese culture. The tea making was fun and Michiyo did a fantastic job of explaining the history. We also got a tour of house which was an added bonus and something we will not get the opportunity again. We also had a really good laugh with Michiyo making the tea - it was the perfect balance between learning about the serious ceremony but in a relaxed setting where we got to try things and ask questions.

Michiyo was a lovely host. She taught us how to make a proper cup of matcha tea for a tea ceremony and it was wonderful to see the inside of a traditional wood house. Thank you!

Such a great experience. The house was beautiful to see and explore. We enjoyed a tour and some storytelling from Michiyo before learning about different types of Japanese teas and how to prepare Matcha. After watching a demonstration, we then had an attempt at it ourselves. It was a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable experience, and such good value too! (Especially compared to some others I saw advertised) Not only did we learn about tea and how to prepare it, but also about Japanese culture and architecture. Michiyo was happy to answer any questions we had and was very knowledgable. Great experience!
