In the house where we ourselves live in, we have 1 room (2 rooms if you are 3 or 4 people) available for guests. You can make your own coffee / tea in the first room for free where there is a also a small microwave and small refrigerator at your service.

The room(s) and how to get there (stairs!) are NOT SUITABLE for family's with young children till 12 years.

We have a lot of information for you about Haarlem/Amsterdam. We are there for you and will help you with questions you might have!

Welcome in our house!
For us our house is a place where we can relax, be with our family, meet many friends, and have long dinners and good talks together. We shared our house by house-exchange and couchsurfing and love to meet people from different countries and cultures.

If we are at home, we like to have a coffee/tea/drink/conversation with our guests if they like it too. But we will always respect the privacy of our guests!

Our house is a big city house with a small, cosy garden with a big tree and enough place to relax if the weather is nice.

Your sleeping room(s) is (are) on the second floor of the house. (The stairs in dutch houses are quite steep!) Room one is a big room (20m2) and the bed is 1.60 x 2.00 long. If you are with 3 or 4 people, it is possible to be hosted in a second big room on the same floor.
Bedding and towels are provided, so no need of taking towels with you!
On the first floor is the (shared!) bathroom, with a shower, bath and toilet. The bathroom is a bit “old-fashioned” and it’s our next “project” to renovate.
If you stay longer, we can change your bedding on your request.
Towels can be changed as often as you want!
You have your own wardrobe (on both rooms), where you can put your clothes and where you will find more towels.
Also there is a hairdryer and there are two (or 3 or 4) bathrobes at your disposal.
On the first big room there is a water-cooker and a coffee-maker. Tea and coffee are for free. To heat up small meals, there is a microwave and tableware at your room. And ofcourse your own refrigerator.

There is free Wifi.

Our house is a non-smoking area. Smokers can use the garden.

Parking your car for free is possible. You can park in a safe area which is a few streets behind our house. We will explain you where to go. Parking shortly ( 1 or 2 hours) exactly in front of our house is also possible at our expense. In that case we need your license plate number to register your car.

- The house is on walking distance of the city centre
- In the center you will find musea (Frans Hals), beautiful old dutch houses, the old townhall, the Bavo-church, the famous "hofjes", and many parks
- The national park “Kennemerduinen” is on bicycle distance
- The beach (Bloemendaal at Sea and Zandvoort) is on bicycle distance as well
- Supermarket around the corner
- A “plaza” with trees, is at the corner of the street
- Taking the train from Haarlem (station) to Amsterdam (station) is 15 minutes by train!
- Haarlem is proclaimed to be the best “shopping city” of the Netherlands

We are pleased to give you any information about renting a bicycle, taking the train or the bus to the beach, visiting musea and old area's in Haarlem, Amsterdam etc.

We are Rob and Marion. We are happily married and we have 3 children. Our 2 girls and son don't live at home anymore because they are all adults.
Besides our family, our friends are very important to us: We love to see them and do things together.
Other cultures, people and countries lighten up our live, and so we travel a lot. We have done some home-exchanges in the past and we had a lot of travelers from all over the world in our house by Couchsurfing.

We have welcomed guests from all over the world and we love to meet them. And while we totally respect your absolute privacy there's usually someone around or within messaging range to answer your questions or help you out with anything you need. During daytime (weekdays) it's possible, we're not in the house all day, as we are both working. But feel free to pop downstairs anytime, knock at the living-room door (loudly!) and say hi if we are there, or ask us for support / tips if you want.
