Sancta Maria is a comfortable and very private old coastguard cottage (built in 1840s) on Glandore Harbour in West Cork. The absence of any traffic means that background noise comes from the hum of fishing trawlers, the call of seagulls and waves breaking on the beach. A 10-minute walk along the harbour takes you to Union Hall village with its well-stocked supermarket, coffee shop and three pubs (two with restaurants). This is West Cork at its most idyllic - right on the Wild Atlantic Way.
