Step three steps down into the coolest area of the house throughout the warmest days on the island, and warmest during the few cold days in Alameda.
Our property has several options for relaxation and/or entertainment, inside and out for your enjoyment. Even as a "work- in-progress" the yard is a welcoming respite in between, before or after activities.

Please download the Airbnb app and communicate with your hosts through it. We would like to- but cannot respond to texts outside of the format.

International guests- please write to me in your language and I will use the Translate feature. It is important to communicate however possible!

Please come with an open mind and heart. We love hosting as many people as we can; traveling trippers, Grandmas and persons on business. It is most often a great thing to bump into and interact with others! I am happy to report we have had the best and most friendliest of guests here with very rare exceptions.
FWIW Sharing a bathroom is no one's preference, but it is unoccupied 90+% of the time.

We are an eco-friendly house- saving water and resources. I encourage guests to become mindful of California's drought state. I also taught recycling in our neighborhood elementary school for 5 years so am quite opposed to single-use products, except for toilet paper which we buy from a special manufacturer of bamboo and recycled paper sources...yea!

Full-sized fridge and laundry facilities for the convenience of long or short-term guests, Microwave, Toaster oven, 2-burner induction stove top, French press coffee, Electric teapot and tea, yogurt fruit and toast.
Enjoy all-natural bedding of soft cotton sheets, quilts, down pillows and duvets! We do have down-alternatives for the allergic among us, however... just ask. I also prefer to use products to launder and clean without artificial perfumes and chemicals whenever possible.
Ride bikes around town or take them to the city. Just remember to lock up.
Whatever you do, though, don't ask about the "Secret Room"!
Please remember to lock the door by 10:00/ 22:00. bath, bathrobes-no need to bring yours.

The Island of Alameda is soon to lose its "Secret Place" status. Block after block of beautiful historic homes and buildings, many pre-date the 1906 Earthquake.
We've been loving it here for 20 some years and many of the residents are the 3rd or 4th generation in their homes. Who can blame them!
