DESCRIPTION:

Enjoy bright light, a unique layout and an open feel while staying in the loft. The loft is on 3rd & 4th floor of a coach house & can sleep up to 8! Exposed brick & skylight in 2-story living room. Updated kitchen & modern bath. Near park, pool, public transporation & 1 mile to 606 path. There is a half bath on the lower level and a newly rehabbed full bath & hardwood flooring upstairs.

There is also Pulaski Park nearby (1 block) with green space, a softball field, dog park area and swimming pool.

FAQs

1. Do you allow EVENTS, PARTIES or GATHERINGS?

No, you must follow Chicago’s COVID guidelines and be respectful of neighbors.

If you are found to have done an unauthorized photo/video project or hosted an event with 10+ people, you will be charged the full security deposit. This puts both my neighbors and property at risk in terms of liability and there is a zero tolerance policy.

Small, quiet gatherings <10 people are fine!

2. LOCATING THE LOFT. How do I find the unit?

There are 2 buildings on this particular lot and my unit is in the rear building (coach house) when entering from the street. It can also be accessed directly through the alley.

3. PAYMENTS. Do I have to pay everything now when I book?

This is handled by AirBnB, so I am not involved in this part. I believe there are a couple options including paying in full or dividing it in two payments. They automatically block out the date once payment has been arranged and at least the first installment paid. Pre-approvals and special offers last for 24 hours. During this time the loft is not blocked out or reserved for you. I am open to considering a lease for medium to long term stays.

4. PREVIEWS & TOURS. Can I see the place before booking?

No, there are no in-person tours available to see the place before booking.

5. What about NOISE and LIGHT?

I'm located about 5 buildings away from 90/94 (highway). There's no loud noise from this, but there is slightly more background noise. For example, you might have to turn the TV volume a little louder than normal. Also, there is a skylight, so light is always coming in. If you are sensitive to light, it may wake you up in the morning. Also, the exposed brick wall "sheds" a small amount of sediment daily. We clean it before and after guests, but don't be surprised if you see some during your stay.

6. Can I have PETS over?

No puppies and no elderly/sick pets. Otherwise, up to 2 pets are OK along with an extra $25/mo per pet in rent. You must disclose pets or there will be a $250 penalty per pet plus back pay will be due for pet rent.

7. CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT. Can I check out late or leave my bags after the 12pm check-out time?

Sometimes we can accommodate luggage drop off prior to check-in once the prior guest has left--so 12pm or later. Otherwise, our guests use a luggage storage service in the area. If you need this service, please ask and we will send you the info.

We do our best to accommodate early or late check-out, but we are usually booked back-to-back. Typically, early and late check-out is not possible. If it is, we would have to wait until the day you check-in/checkout, so it'll be a game-time decision. Late checkout cuts into our cleaning time, so you will be charged $35/hr (our cleaner's rate) pro-rated in 15 minute increments for you or your guests leaving after 12pm without permission. If you need other accommodations, try "Bag BnB."

8. GETTING LOCKED OUT. What if I lock myself out or lose the keys?

We will drop what we're doing to come rescue you for $50; $100 on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter or NYE.

9. OTHER FEES. What additional fees might I incur?

None if you're not breaking the rules and those of you who are reading all this are probably not the ones we're concerned about . . . but thanks for your conscientiousness nonetheless! If you're feeling rebellious, here are the fees for getting caught (and we pride ourselves on catching it all!).

Tampering with the security camera - $500
Smoking weed in the unit - $400 for breaking the law on our property and $100 for extra cleaning to get rid of smell
Smoking weed on the porch (without a medical card) - $400 for breaking the law on our property
Additional hours of cleaning for damage caused - $40/hr
Hosting more guests than what you claim (we typically send a reminder on this before your stay in case you put "1 guest" as an accident) - $100 for the extra liability you're causing us & time we spend coming to the property and/or documenting your lie + $50 per head for every guest beyond 2 guests
Noise complaints by neighbhors - $100 per violation/complaint (the HOA charges me a $100 fee for noise complaints)
You will also be assessed a replacement fee for any property you damage in the unit and that will vary based on the replacement cost of the item.

The whole place. I have a Roku box with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu+. There is no regular "live" TV at this time. There is a dining table as well as tray tables for eating/working in the dining room or living room areas. 24/7 check-in since the house is on a lockbox. See the location/directions section after you've confirmed your booking for detailed info on getting in.

No guests are allowed in the unit during your reservation aside from those that are part of the reservation and will be staying overnight. You will be charged $50/person per night for any guests that enter the unit that are not on the reservation.

Please share planned arrival and departure times. We cannot accommodate luggage drop off but could recommend a service for luggage storage in case you arrive early. Please just ask.

There is free street parking (no permit required) on Crystal and the East side of Noble. Crystal Street winds around to the left and basically becomes a parking lot. Toward the end of Crystal on the West side of the street, there is a school zone, so just make sure you notice the signs and don't park there during school hours. Parking is generally easier during the day and gets a bit more difficult at night after 7pm. Just watch out for street cleaning signs so you don't get ticketed. There's also a block party for a weekend in the summer that takes up a lot of the parking spots.
