Torgo Talu Guesthouse sits in an old orchard by the Velise River where you can enjoy freedom from city life and immerse yourself in the simple pleasures of the countryside, but with WiFi.

The guest cottage sleeps four people comfortably, with a double bed upstairs and a pull-out sofa downstairs. The kitchen offers all the basics for cooking a great meal, including a grill outside. Use of the sauna is included in the price, and the hot tub can be booked in advance for an extra fee.

Prostor
This cosy riverside guest cottage offers the perfect weekend escape for couples, families, or a group of close friends. Located near Vana-Vigala, Torgo Talu is about one hour and 15 minutes from Tallinn and 45 minutes from Pärnu.

The guest cottage sleeps four people comfortably. There is a full kitchen with a mini-fridge, oven, four-burner stove, kettle, coffee plunger, dishwasher and anything else you might need for self-catering, including coffee and tea.

You can enjoy the gardens, riverside terrace, take walks in the rural countryside, or fish in the river (please bring your own supplies). Couples can enjoy a secluded romantic weekend while watching the sunset over the meandering river. In the evening, relax in the wood-heated hot tub or rejuvenate in our traditional Estonian wooden sauna. (Use of the wood-heated hot tub is 30€ for the first night and then 20€ per subsequent day. Guests may use the traditional sauna as much as they like. Birdwatchers may see dozens of species right on the property or on a visit to nearby Matsalu National Park (20 minutes drive), one of Europe's best birdwatching sites.

Přístup pro hosty
You can enjoy the entire property. If you'd like to have a sauna, just ask and I'll show you how to use it. The wood-heated hot tub is an extra €30 for the first use, and then 20€ per subsequent use (which can be paid in cash or via bank transfer). The laundry is located in the main house, just ask if you'd like to wash some clothes.

Další věci, které stojí za zmínku
At Torgo, you will meet my two Welsh terriers Zorro (2 years) and Zula (10 months). If you are bringing your pet, please let me know in advance. Mine are friendly, don't shed and just want to play. Should our pets not get along, it's not a problem to keep them separated during your stay. If you have any concerns, please ask before booking. Well behaved pets are welcome, however, should they misbehave, you are responsible for any damage they may cause.

Check-Out is 12:00 I am very flexible, so if you would like to stay a bit longer, please don’t hesitate to ask. If there are no guests checking in right away, then I’m sure I’ll be able to accommodate you.

As this is a tiny house, the layout is a bit different. The shower is located in the kitchen and the WC is accessible from the outside. The WC is still part of the same house, it just has a separate entrance from the front of the house.

Kitchen - Please help yourself to anything you find in the cupboards or on the shelves. If you need a certain spice or an extra pot or pan, I’ve got everything you might need in the main house. Just ask!

Laundry - If you would like to wash your clothes, the laundry is in the main house. I’ll show you how to use it. I’ve provided an iron and small ironing board. There is no extra charge for laundry.

A note about the plumbing - Please do not flush tampons or any other large objects down the drain. The septic system is delicate and gets blocked easily.

Parking - you may park your car on the lawn near mine when you arrive. The ground can be soft at certain times of the year, so unfortunately you may not drive your car directly up to the guesthouse when the ground is soft. Please ask when booking what the conditions are. Please ask if you require assistance with your bags.

Vigala is known for its clay-filled soil, meaning that in springtime, autumn, or after any heavy rainfall, the ground is soft and can be muddy in places. Please bring appropriate footwear.

Outdoor Fireplace - If you would like to enjoy a fire outside, please move the metal ball to any location you would like. (Please do not place it on the wood deck). Help yourself to wood from the woodshed, or from one of the many woodpiles on the property.

Music - Please feel free to listen to music indoors or out. While the neighbours aren’t immediately next door, please keep the music to a reasonable level, as sound does travel.

Swimming - The river depth fluctuates throughout the year and can get quite shallow in summer (less than a metre). Please be careful when getting in as the rocks may be slippery near the sauna. In winter, the current is strong and the ice may be unsafe.

Children - Please keep in mind that Torgo Talu is a riverside property and children should be supervised accordingly.

Smoking - Smoking is permitted outside only and cigarette butts must be placed in the ashtray or bin.

Sauna & Hot Tub

Please give at least 24 hours notice, if you are interested in using the sauna or hot tub.

Use of the sauna is free of charge. In winter, there is no running water in the sauna, but water for washing can be heated in the sauna and cold water can be brought in with buckets.

Use of the hot tub is €30 for the first night and then €20 per subsequent use. This can be paid in cash, via bank transfer or by bank card on site.

Vängla, Rapla County, Estonsko

The rich local farmland offers serenity. A few minutes drive away, explore the ancient manor of Vana-Vigala, the most prominent eighteenth-century Baltic manor, the mysterious marshes of Matsalu, or the quaint streets of nearby towns of Lihula and Märjamaa.

There are also many trails within a short drive that are perfect for hiking or cross-country skiing.

Pärnu and Haapsalu also make for good day trips any time of year.

Closest towns for food and supplies:

The closest town to Torgo Talu is Vana-Vigala. You will pass through here if you drive from Tallinn. There is a basic Coop grocery store where you can buy the essentials.

If you're coming from Pärnu, you'll pass through Kivi-Vigala, which has a very basic shop for very basic needs.

Märjamaa is a quaint little town located just off Pärnu mnt. If you drive from Tallinn you will pass through it. There are quite a few grocery stores to choose from. Rimi has the best quality produce and meat selection. Maxima has a decent wine selection. Lemmikute pood is a cute local shop that has an impressive selection of vegan products (well, outside of Tallinn that is). They also sell local produce in summer.

I'm originally from Toronto, Canada, but my background is Estonian. I love travelling and exploring the cuisines of new places. I have travelled the world cooking and am now settled in Estonia where I work as a food writer. Staying at my place is relaxing and cosy. I love sharing a meal and many times my guests and I have cooked together, or shared a glass of wine, or two. It's a great way to learn about a new cuisine and get to know new people.

Během tvého pobytu
I live on the property in a separate house and I may or may not be on-site throughout your stay, but either way, I'm happy to help with anything you might need or questions you may have.
