Também será explicado todo o maneio e cuidados que temos na Quinta. No fim desta visita irá haver uma pequena surpresa aos visitantes preparada por nós e pelos nossos animais. We'll meet at the Black Sand Box office or at the beach, best for the day. At the surfschool van we grab our gear and head out to a secluded area with plenty of great beginner waves. The lesson starts on the sand, where I’ll teach you surf techniques and the important things you need to know to be safe and successful at surfing. I’ll also cover local surf culture and etiquette so that you stay on the right side of your fellow surfers. When ready, we’ll paddle out and spend the rest of our time in the ocean, enjoying the Azorean waves! Before every lesson I look at the surf forecast and make sure it is safe for first timers. Have in mind that the MEETING POINT/LOCATION and START TIME for this experience might vary depending on the surf conditions and the low tide of the day. Other things to note Black Sand Box (Surf) is licensed by the Government of the Azores as a tourist maritime operator (OMT-16/2018). We have insurances of civil liability and personal accident!

If you are already in Azores, or just organizing your trip, you will find that the most typical souvenirs of Portugal are roosters, sardines, and swallows—all made of clay and painted by hand. So, why not spend time with me in my studio, creating your own souvenir? I will tell you a bit more about the origin of these iconic objects, and together we will create a unique gift for you to take home. We will create a typical souvenir, but with a totally new approach. I will offer different options for you to choose from, and I'll help you on the way to have a relaxing, fun, artistic time. In this experience, we will have time to paint one of the objects, so choose which one you prefer. You'll start with a totally blank ceramic piece, and all the painting is done by hand in a traditional style—but the designs are diverse, ranging from really easy to a more professional level. We will adapt to your needs and skills.

Our first spot of the tour we can see two of the best beaches in the country for surfing (Santa Barbara beach and Monte Verde beach). We are going to hike Pico mountain! Conquer the highest point of Portugal as well as the third highest point of the Mid Atlantic Ridge. Let the magnificent view on top of the mountain make you feel reborn. We will start our adventure at the first signs of day light to reach the top around midday. After a lunch in the crater with a view to make all of us silent, we will start the descent. During the hike I will give you more information about the geological formations, about the formation of the island and the vegetation we see. No matter what the view will be on top, if it is now a clear sky or clouds, I can assure you that you will experience one of the best moments in your life when you put your hands on the very top of the mountain.

Our mission is to help and protect donkeys in need of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming. Donkeys walk at the same speed as humans, about four miles per hour. Moving is vital to their ongoing health. In the wild, these animals can be found traveling 10 to 20 kilometers a day as they wander around grazing. And that’s where we need your help! These daily hiking adventures keep our big-eared friends healthy, while unleashing their natural curiosity and wonder. On this excursion, you will have the opportunity to stroll alongside Gabriela, Joaquin de Horta, Esperanca, Edward, and the always-entertaining Shetland pony, Kiwi! We will explore Agua de Alto, where they say it’s always sunny, at a donkey’s pace, reviling in the laid back pace that marks these relaxed islands. We’ll let you in on the secret paths to the best beaches on the south side of the island, make a pit stop for coffee and a chance to brush up on your Portuguese. Explore the highlights of the Western half of São Miguel island in a small group van tour (8 people max) led by an expert local guide! Start with a visit to the picturesque town center of Ribeira Grande, followed by the most beautiful cliffs of the island on the North coast. Cetáceos nos Açores Os Açores são um verdadeiro oásis no que se trata na observação de cetáceos, sendo possivel avistar cerca de 28 espécies diferentes ao longo do ano, isto representa 1/3 das espécies de cetáceos mudialmente conhecidas. A nossa equipa está preparada para que seja possivel observar estes magnificos mamiferos, com o auxilio de um “Vigia”(um elemento da nossa equipa situado em terra), situado numa zona alta, onde através de uns binóculos de longo alcance e via rádio orienta as embarcações sobre o paradeiro dos cetáceos. Desta forma conseguimento manter uma taxa de avistamento de cetáceos superior a 90%. Garantia de Avistamento Na observação de cetáceos torna-se dificil prever que comportamento e espécies serão possiveis de avistar. Desta forma a water4fun apenas pode garantir o avistamento de pelo menos um espécime da ordem dos cetáceos, não sendo possivel prever qual ou mesmo a familia (baleias, golfinhos entre outros). No caso de nenhum espécime da ordem dos cetáceos ser avistado, o cliente tem direito a reagendar uma segunda tentativa, mediante disponibilidade da empresa, totalmente gratuita, ou em ultimo caso a solicitar um reembloso na totalidade.

Obtendo-se assim uma experiência única de aprendizagem e partilha através do processo decorativo da cerâmica, com enquadramento teórico sobre azulejaria tradicional. Este encontro culminará com um objecto “souvenir”, que pode ser alusivo às ilhas, criado pelo próprio no local de viagem! Dado o processo da cerâmica requerer cozedura à volta dos 1000ºC, o trabalho será entregue ao seu criador 2 dias após a execução.
