I recommend taking the Ferry from San Diego Harbor (buy round trip ticket) you will enjoy the views both ways, however crossing the Coronado bridge by car is also a fun experience. This is a great place to rent bicycles (beach cruisers) and explore the island. Super family friendly!

3rd Ave Village has been revitalized and is now an up and coming spot. Local breweries. Super close to the Airbnb. Lots of Mexican restaurants to include food trucks parked outside the breweries. It’s a Local hangout. Cheaper than other similar spots and with low crowds.
