An amazing local wonder, single handedly created by one amazing man trying to beat the hot central valley summers. By hand he dug a maze of underground tunnels, open to sunlight, where he lived and tunneled for decades. An amazing and artistic place to tour!

Bass Lake is surrounded by pine trees, and a lovely place to swim, boat or jet ski. While there, we recommend enjoying a burger at the historic Forks Resort on the west shore. Miller's Landing a little further down is a fun place to take the kids for an ice cream.

There is a five dollar fee to drive in, but I usually park out on the road, and make the hike in part of my walk. Fun place to walk the dog and enjoy the sound of the rushing river.
