This is not your every day park. It's part of the North Carolina Museum of Art, which means as you are strolling along, enjoying the outdoors, you also get to appreciate all sorts of art sculptures. It's 164 acres full of bike and walking paths. It's also quite open with little shade, so if you visit, pack the sunblock!

Ok, so you're going to have to drive a bit to get here (about 45 minutes) but what a great place to explore! We love trails that follow rivers and creeks and this one is a beauty!

Most towns have botanical gardens where you have to pay an entrance fee - not here! This is part of Duke University, which alone is a great place to stroll, lots of history. Sarah P Duke Gardens is divided into 4 areas...Historic Gardens, Native Plants, Asiatic Arboretum and Doris Duke Center and Gardens. You'll be taking of selfies here!

Shelley Lake is a popular place for bikers, runners and walkers (whether it be dog walking, stroller walking or just plain walking).
