The edifice known as “The Garage” is built in 1929 as the first modern garage in the city center and the first center of automobile sports in Belgrade.
Very important is the fact that it is the first declared cultural monument of this kind in the world. Today is the location of the Automobile Museum which is under the governmental protection since 1997.
In this place, where curators keep old cars you can start your travel through the Belgrade’s and the world’s automobile history. Right at the entrance there the old gas pumps are featured. The old pump is dating back to 1938, when
Mija Kovacevic made for the Car Exhibition which was taking place at the Old Fair in Belgrade.
