Conifer is one of the closest mountain towns to Denver, situated just west of the Front Range on Highway 285. It consists mainly of a few commercial strips located on both sides of the highway.
There’s no official downtown Conifer, but you can find everything you need to supply a trip into the mountains. The elevation of this unincorporated JeffCo community is 8,277 feet.

Sightseeing
This section includes some of the best hikes and scenic views in the area! There is a lot to choose from. I also recommend downloading the AllTrails app and doing a search of the Conifer/Evergreen areas, as there are many more trails than those listed here!
A great hike between May and October, but be prepared to bring snow shoes for winter hiking. Both the upper and lower trails get busy, so go earlier to enjoy the falls at its best.

Cub Creek is a lovely, long out and back trail located near us. It's a moderate trail that extends for miles into the Arapahoe National Forest. For those looking for a long hike, Cub Creek meets up with a trail to Staunton State Park where you can hike down into the park.
