The nearby small town of Romsey is a short drive away. Home of Lady Romsey at Broadlands House, with the most beautiful Abbey in the heart of the town. Markets are held on Tuesday and Saturday with a farmers market on the first Sunday of each month.

The historic town of Salisbury with its cathedral is approx 20 miles away, but worth a trip. It is a market town with a huge well supported market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Lots of shops to visit too.

If you are lucky you may get to see some of the different deer that we have in the New Forest, at certain times of day they can be seen from a viewing platform, and then you can take well sign posted walks around the area, finishing off with an ice cream from the ice cream van in the car park. There is a designated BBQ area here too if you fancy one.

Rufus Stone, where King William Rufus is supposed to have been killed many years ago. There is a fantastic pub a stones throw away called The Sir Walter Tyrell, which has a big garden and play area for the children
