A great alternative to the huge national park up the hill. This nature preserve is only 15 minutes east of town, great for kids, romantic for couples, an all-around nice place to spend an hour. The loop trail takes about 45 minutes. It's fun, but also very peaceful. Free.

For the confirmed foodie. Very original creations, amazing wine & craft cocktails, and terrific professional service. The ambiance is very cool too, since it's underground in what used to the city's jail. Pricey, but worth it. Not for children.
