This is the fish restaurant you arrive at when you first get to Marina di Novaglie. Upmarket, sea front fish restaurant and a wonderful experience both lunch and dinner. You just have to stroll down from Ammare. ... in the summer you can also rent sun beds here for the day, or walk down to the sea just below the restaurant for a dip.

There is also a very small very local pizzeria if you don’t want ‘to eat out’. Sort of fast food but pizza is good.
And a very good ice cream parlour.

This lovely place is in Patu’.
Home made local food. In the summer table are in a beautiful piazza and in the spring and autumn in an internal very pretty courtyard. Very reasonable. Just be careful not to over order as the antipasti are extremely abundant.

In Castro, along the coast from Ammare towards Otranto. This is a favourite day time hang out for us. Right on the fishing boat marina, with superb views, eat in or take out. Fried fish is excellent, very relaxed and local. No waiter service.

I enjoy going to Otranto after having had evening drinks at the beach bar called Borderline Cafe’ which is on the opposite side of the bay so your view is of Otranto!! Otherwise the bars in the walled town look out onto the sea. Lots of cute shops and restaurants and obviously the castle.

There are events on in the castle from time to time. We went to watch a ‘revival’ concert and the castle was lit up for the occasion. We ate in a trattoria just outside the castle which I will list.

Visit the sanctuary and the lighthouse and the villas (when open) .
This is the departure point for boat rides to visit the many grottos both south and north of Santa Maria di Leuca. There are booths all along the sea front selling tickets and a booth also in Marina di Novaglie.

Il Ciolo is where the Cipolliane hike takes you to. It’s popular for cliff jumping and swimming. The gorge from here takes you up to Galliano del Capo.
