Kehena is the only black sand beach in lower Puna. This clothing optional beach is extremely beautiful, swim with care and heed the surf as at times it can be rough. The old red road (HWY 137) winds along the coast to Kehena and continues all the way to Mackenzie Park (closed at the Moment) The drive is spectacular with views of the rugged coast line.
