A very modest motor turns the whole tower (or a group of a dozen people could turn the tower). The platform area is relatively small but has great views down the Clyde River toward City Center as well as the University of Glasgow which is across the river and the surrounding countryside. Guides provide lots of useful information about the construction of the tower. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area (either the Science Museum or the Riverside Museum. Check it's open.
