KONA COFFEE! If you are visiting Kona and love coffee, you have to visit a Kona coffee farm :] Many visitors don't know coffee at all but enjoy the tours thoroughly.
This is the oldest certified organic Kona coffee farm, run by a quirky and lovable young couple - one is a scientist and the other an artist, both applying novel agricultural methods.
They do everything from picking the coffeefruit to roasting the bean, on-site. Email or call them for tour - Appointment only!

Great if you do, or don't, want to hike: Beautiful AMAZING Breathtaking hike through vibrant fern-Rainforest, then entering a Huge open, arid, vast crater that you can walk through.
Or, you can just drive to the main area of the crater, and look over the huge edge down into the vast crater.
All the while watching steam rising around you from the Earth!
[ The other side entrance of this State Park, at Kalapana, is the Lava Flow, FYI. It is amazing to see but certainly a much longer day. ].

Great if you do, or don't, want to hike: Beautiful AMAZING Breathtaking hike through vibrant fern-Rainforest, then entering a Huge open, arid, vast crater that you can walk through.
Or, you can just drive to the main area of the crater, and look over the huge edge down into the vast crater.
All the while watching steam rising around you from the Earth!
