This is a small cafe but if you don't mind the (uphill from our place) walk you get great food and coffee with the added ambience of High Street views and St Georges Square park laid out in front of you. Their menu is at https://www.agfg.com.au/restaurant/le-cafe-on-st-george-42800. It's also next to a great butcher.

Right down the bottom of the hill. Nice place to eat. The Sticky Date Pudding is my especial favourite.

This 1937 movie theatre has been (and is currently still being) lovingly restored by some enthusiastic movie buffs. Go for an old fashioned movie experience. Laincot Fabric. Buy genuine Australian clothing you won't find anywhere else. Laincot makes fantastic jeans, shirts, vests and moleskins. The fabric's a mix of Tassie merino and Australian carded cotton, and everything is 'grown, spun, woven, designed and manufactured in Australia' and is hard wearing but very comfortable. Laincot shares space with an antique store you can also check out.

F & W Stewart Jewellers have been going in Launceston since 1880. I like to look in every now and then to get a whiff of old world ambience - you don't have to buy anything.
