The retail store is an upscale tourist mecca, but the restaurant is quieter. The food is tasty but for me the real draw is the location, a sunny room overlooking the Quechee River. The falls are just to the east, under a covered wooden bridge. The river valley to the west is lush and lovely. Quechee is a small picturesque village. There is some fine upscale shopping just across the river.

Sightseeing
Homestead of Strafford's famous son, a 19th century Vermont senator who was, among other accomplishments, the father of the land grant college system. The homestead features the restored Victorian house and extensive gardens.

An extensive food co-op. Glorious produce. The go to place for almost any ingredient you can think of. They have an extensive deli. I have hosted several elegant brunches with prepared take aways. They have another, even larger location near the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon NH.
