It's got everything you need, a bank with an ATM, a nice grocery store (currently close, under renovation), a drugstore, a shoe repair store, a shish taouk restaurant... and it's only a five minutes walk!

Right around the corner, open from 8 in the morning to 10 at night, it offers the basic convenience right around the corner. Chips or beer anyone? And milk as well, of course...

This is really a nice little niche grocery store nearby. Worth the visit. Specializes in fruits and vegetables, but offers so much more beyond their core business. You'll be charmed by the local's only feel of this space out of time and place.

The closest big supermarket since the Wilderton based one closed for major renovations. It has the advantage of having a small but practical parking and is fully stocked with everything you might need. I do recommend going to the other one, though, if you don't mind the few minutes difference. Bigger parking, and for higher quality products and even bigger selection. See the list for Métro Beaumont!

The number one rated grocery store in the area, possibly with the exception of 5 saisons. They are very different, though, and I think I'd still say this one grabs the number one spot. Ample parking, vast selection of produce and high quality as it's close to a very posh neighbourhood, Ville Mont-Royal.

In Outremont, the frenchier than French neighbourhood nearby, stands this grocery store, catering to the posh clientèle of the area. If you are looking for outstanding quality, or just in the area (as Bernard is one beautiful street to discover).

OK, who doesn't like a cheap old style cinema. Those days are gone... except here at Starz! Obviously, it's no Megaplex and you won't disappear in a fluffy tilting seat and no you won't get arena style seating. Who cares! The movie is the same, the staff is absolutely enthusiastic, and it's generally quieter. It's walking distance if you like walking, or just grab a Bixi!!! Their movie schedule is on the Web. Food Scene

Oh so not easy to describe in a few words... Montreal's biggest food market, a mix of producers straight to consumers, meat shops, cheese shops, bakeries, and, really, everything edible or drinkable! Not only a great place to stock up, but in itself, a sight to see! And whether by metro, bus or car... so close!

Simply the best omelet in Montreal! Well, IMHO... Delightful breakfast place (offering lunch and dinner as well) with a nice patio in season. It's just the place to be to enjoy the pedestrian traffic on Bernard, or before going to buy your baguette and croissants at Première Moisson next door :)

This bakery is more than a bakery, offering charcuterie and cheese as well, and even their own meatball spaghetti sauce! A definite must on any tour of Outremont / Bernard street, to smell their delicious products, look at their delicious pastries, and... of course buy some!

Nice little french bistro on Côte des Neiges, to enjoy some classic French fares in a lively ambiance.

Hands down one of the best sushi places I've tried anywhere in Montreal. Reservations recommended. Just diagonally across from the Starbucks on Côte des Neiges. So close... so fresh!

In the heart of Outremont, just a 10 mins drive from the Danish Den, this place offers the best omelet in Montreal (oven broil finish) and great coffee, with al fresco dining in season. I've been going there for over 30 years. It's an institution! And a stop here will make you discover a street that's just a little like being in Paris without crossing the Atlantic!

That is just a hidden Gem. You won't find this recommended anywhere else. I've only discovered it myself recently. Very good breakfast or lunch with a view, from Monday to Friday, for a very reasonable price. Look on Google, most the pictures are mine, lol I've enjoyed all the breakfast meals I've tried there. Only downside, it's only opened from Monday through Friday and during University School year... so forget about this place in July and August. Sorry!

It's a chain, but they do what they do right. Nice decor, bustling atmosphere, and cheap and cheerful good quality Ramen. Not the best, but hey, the best are in Japan lol!

It's in the Wilderton Shopping Center (center brand new building), just a five (or six) minute walk away and they serve good sushi. Nothing fancy, but so close, and definitely not overpriced. A good place for take-away! They don't open late... do check their schedule.
