Unmissable spots in Venice
Bounded by the Grand Canal and the Giudecca, it is mostly a quiet sestiere and an incredibly charming one. It is considered one of the most prestigious areas and is quite residential in character, although the presence of the Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection turn it into a tourist destination.
TO SEE: Gallerie dell'Accademia, Punta delle Dogan (Pinault's collection), Basilica Santa Maria della Salute, Carmini church and Scuola dei Carmini, San Nicolò dei Mendicoli church, Ca' Rezzonico (museum of Venetian Eighteen Century), San Sebastiano church, Squero di San Trovaso.

The sestiere of San Marco, together with Rialto area, is the main touristic spot of Venice.

At the foot of the Rialto bridge, before reaching the ancient market, you can visit the oldest church in Venice, the church of San Giacomo di Rialto (called San Giacometto), and then continue towards the market. Here, while walking among the fish stalls, you can admire the Pescheria Vecia and the Pescheria Nova, and you can have a wonderful view of the Grand Canal and the Palazzo della Ca 'd'Oro located on the opposite bank.
