Beach

Obviously a main attraction in Spain is the weather and the weather is only made better by mixing it with a little water, of course you can always have a dip in the pool, but there is nothing quite like the sound of the sea and a dip in the warm waters of the Mediterranean to make you feel like you are really on holiday. There are many beautiful beaches to visit around Casares. Casares itself boasts a lovely, clean beach with a wonderful beach bar which just hits the spot when you manage to tear yourself away from the apartments' pools, but don't fancy wandering too far. We do love Estepona beach too, as there is a lot going on for the children, with water sports and lots of cafes and shops on hand. You can park easily on the beachfront in the underground parking. Also within just a short drive you can also visit the beaches of Marbella, Puerto Banus, Sabinallas and Duquesa. Driving towards the towns of Sotogrande you will find perfect little places to stop off, have a splash and a cool drink.

Family days out

These are our very favourite places to visit with the children, when we are in Casares.
Our trips would not be complete without a visit here, it's not massive, but our children love it and so do we. The dolphin shows are just amazing, but there are lots of other animals and educational talks. Don't miss the wild birds show, never fails to delight. TIP1: stay for the train the dolphin trainer session at the end of the day, its very educational, showing how they train the dolphins and the trainers, but also why and what they do to keep the dolphins entertained, healthy and happy. It is also very funny and the trainers have a great time showing off. TIP2: take a packed lunch if you want to keep costs down and your own bottles of water.

Animal adventure park, with great safari rides on the large jeeps. Gets hot in the height of summer, but they do have water mists placed around the queuing and busy areas, but ensure you have lots of sun cream and hats. TIP 1: During the early and later times in the day you often see more animal activty TIP2 : take a picnic to keep costs down and avoid the queues in the cafes.

There are parks with larger slides, but we found this one fantastic for our 10 and 7 year old children. There can be long queues in the height of the season and although there are some free floats and tyres to use, they in short supply, so we would recommend hiring the floats as you go in, which does add to the cost, but causes less stress as the children don't have to wait. You can also get double floats, which means adults can go down at the same time as younger children. TIP: Take a picnic, the queues for food are just too long and the food is mainly expensive chips and burgers. Can recommend the waffles though as a quick energy boost towards the end of the day.
