Things to see

Daikanbo look out. About 50mins drive. It is located on the northern rim of the crater. It's the perfect spot to look out over Aso's grand natural landscape! The rock is 80m tall, 100m wide and said to be formed more than 500 million years ago. You can drive to the look out point at the bottom of the rock. But the road is quite narrow so if you aren't used to driving you may find it scary.... Quite park up on a hill. 1.6km from home. 5 mins drive. There are wind mill made of stones. Smaller ones weigh 6 tons, the bigger one weighs 16 tons. They actually turns with wind!! There is also a 91m long slide with rollers :)　 You can see the nice view of the town and also the Fudoga rock on the mountain. (symbol of yamaga) 一本松公園のシンボルである「石のかざぐるま」は、3基で親子を表現しています。中央の親基は重さ16トン、羽根の直径2.2メートル。左右の子基は重さ6トン、羽根の直径1.8メートルで、いずれもスペイン産の赤御影石で作られています。この巨大な石の羽根の回転力は「自然の風」のみで、風速3メートルの風で回ります。この公園には長さ９１ｍのローラースライダーもあります。この公園から町が見渡せます。そして不動岩も結構近くに見えます。

Mount Kujū is the highest mountain in Kyushu Island, Japan. It is one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains. Two main trailheads for the Kuju mountains are located at the Makinoto Pass and the Chojabaru Visitor Center, which are both along the popular road and about 1h30 mins drive from home!!
