DESCRIPTION BY ASSOCIAZIONE AMICI DI PIGRA: The path of the "middle road" cuts the wood horizontally with no elevation gain. Easy and shaded, it twists and turns among tall beech trees and in a quiet environment where all senses are captured by the rustle of the wind, the roar of the water and the birds singing.
The first part goes through a pine forest and continues through old stone walls, and small streams (in pigrese: "quai"), then it Reaches a fountain for watering animals. Further along the path Shrinks up to the end of the route, marked with appropriate signs.

EASY TREK
It’s the second highest mountain of the territory. Strongly recommended departing from Argegno with cable car up to Pigra (880 mt).
Pigra - Monte Galbiga: through the path "strada ai monti” you reach the altitude of 1700 meters in a couple of hours. You will meet the Alpe di Colonno (1237 meters) – with its restaurant – and then Boffalora (mt 1252) - about 20 minutes later - with restaurant as well. From Boffalora, the military road goes up and leads to Rifugio Venini (1576 mt), managed by ANA (Alpini) of Lenno, and leads up to Alpe di Lenno and Alpe di Ossuccio, still used by farmers (cheeses sale).
The summit of Galbiga is not far from here, but the trail gets steeper. From the summit we may want to continue the ridge to Mount Crocione (30 minutes, clear metallic Cross) with spectacular views of Lake Como. On Mount Galbiga are the remains of fortifications and the military road of the war in 1915 - 191818, re-used as air-raid lookout stations in the war of 1940 - 1945. Inside of a now collapsed trench, about one hundred meters from the rear of Rifugio Venini, there is an Astronomical Observatory: only the dome of 4 meters is visible from the outside. It is managed by the Gruppo Astrofili Lariani, who provided the equipment (headquarters: Albavilla - CO- phone: 3476301088, from Monday to Saturday from 18:00 to 20:00).

In low season the club closes on Mondays, while during high season it is always open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is equipped with covered driving range, it has a golf school both for beginners and for experienced players, specialized in particular for young people. The Golf Club of Lanzo can boast of the presence of Italian and regional champions. There is the possibility of using golf cars, and for field trips (reserved for licensed players) you need to contact the secretariat. In the complex there is also a popular restaurant and an equipment shop for "occasional outputs". Along the way there are some erratic boulders with "cupelliformi" engravings of particular importance. To access the golf course you must already be enrolled in a Golf Club.
Just a short distance from it stands the border, from where, through the Pass of Valmara, you can get in a few kilometers (out of Bissone / Campione d'Italy) to the A9 highway linking the cities of Milan, Varese and Lugano.
