House Rock Kitchen has incredible and delicious food for the discriminating diner. Many of their dishes are vegan and gluten free. Our favorite in town! They've also got an excellent patio space with yard games, live music, and good vibes.

Beautiful pass you can easily drive up! It's a paved road on both sides of the pass (40min to the summit), so you can take any vehicle up and over. There's access to the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) right there at the top for spectacular views.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can take this road all the way to Crested Butte in about an 1hr 45min.

Fantastic mountainous lake setting with plenty of beaches and picnic areas, just 25min outside of downtown! There are plenty of four-wheeling roads just beyond the lake as well that will take you deep into the mountains.

Midland Trails & Arkansas River Trails
There are lots of excellent trails right outside the front door! Head directly east on Cedar St. Go straight at the T intersection onto the dirt road. There will be a large dog park on your right - keep going straight. You will run into the main river trail shortly thereafter.
There are two bridges over the Arkansas River, North Bridge and South Bridge. You can do a loop walking on both sides of the river using the bridges for a fairly easy hike. Takes about 30 minutes. The westside of the river is extremely easy while the eastside has a little more technical hiking, but no elevation gain.
Once on the eastside of the river, there are many trails criss crossing the hillside. While there are lots of signs and maps on the trails, we always recommend taking a map with you! Our favorite trails up there include the Broken Boyfriend North and Broken Boyfriend South trails plus Camp Elevation. You can easily get a 10+ mile hike in just on these trails without retracing your steps!
