Aloha is a great beach restaurant where you can relax on big sofas and eat/drink/relax. There are also a lot of water sport activities organized from the surf shop next door.
Drive there - free parking, or cycle. There's also a ferry from IJmuiden but it stops running in the evening so make sure you're aware of the times. http://alohabeach.nl/

You can cycle to the Haarlem station in 40 minutes. You can take the 75 bus there in 30 minutes (see details on that in the list for public transport). I don't recommend driving because you have to pay for parking and the city is not very car friendly, however you can drive there and use a parking garage.
From Haarlem you can easily reach Amsterdam in 15 minutes, Alkmaar in 30 minutes, Leiden, Den Haag, Utrecht, etc... it's a very well-connected station for seeing the sights.

You can cycle to the Haarlem station in 40 minutes. You can take the 75 bus there in 30 minutes (see details on that in the list for public transport).
