This place is one of the rare "after hours" bars that maintains a large number of regular customers.

Kottarou is one of my first experiences of a rustic rembetiko( greek blues music) places in Athens.
Although it is not in the center, it is really worth a visit and spending the night there among the many photo frames and rustic decoration and live music.
Great food and atmosphere!

Exarcheia is a highly controversial neighborhood in Athens. Many stories and rumors have surfaced along the years.
Nevertheless, it's a must visit place to walk around during the day, sit down for a coffee and admire the graffiti which fills the streets.
To me, Exarcheia is the most authentic contemporary Athenian neighborhood !

Exarcheia is a highly controversial neighborhood in Athens. Many stories and rumors have surfaced along the years.
Nevertheless, it's a must visit place to walk around during the day, sit down for a coffee and admire the graffiti which fills the streets.
To me, Exarcheia is the most authentic contemporary Athenian neighborhood !
Plaka is one of the most ancient settlements in Europe, with a history of more than 3.500 years. Located under the Acropolis, its charming atmosphere is spread all around the narrow streets, the ancient ruins, the Byzantine temples and the renovated neoclassical buildings.
One interesting place to visit within Plaka is the small settlement of Anafiotika:
Well off the beaten path of typical tours, this little neighborhood is more like an island village. You honestly will not believe that you are in Athens when you walk down the narrow painted streets of Anafiotika.
