Tucson is the 1st UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the US!

Tucson isn't just for tacos...although we have 23 miles of the best Mexican food in the US! In 2004 Tucson was named the 1st UNESCO city of gastronomy in the US for its agricultural heritage, rich food traditions and culinary uniqueness. For an authentic taste of Tucson try: Barrio Bread (James Beard Nominated baker Don Guerra uses local heritage grains) El Güero Canelo (See what a James Beard winning Sonoran Dog tastes like) Cafe Poca Cosa (Chef Suzana Davila's upscale creative Mexican. Make a reservation and order the chef's plate) Tacos Apson (asadero with a unique taco menu)

Sunset Magazine named Tucson their favorite weekend getaway!

Tucson offers a unique and vibrant culture. Be sure to experience a little of all of it... For a taste of the outdoors try a hike up Tumamoc Hill followed by a taco feast or tasty margarita. For local art visit the Degrazia Gallery in the Sun coupled with cocktails and the vintage photography at the Hacienda del Sol. For some desert exploration enjoy the gorgeous scenic drive through Gates Pass to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. For unique shopping check out small businesses like Arte de la Vida and shops in the Mercado and Mercado Annex.

Tucson is bike friendly!

Transportation in Tucson is easy and readily available. Parking is plentiful, but can be scarce downtown as in any city. Uber and Lyft are readily available as are rental bikes and scooters scattered about. If you are driving remember to share the road with the many cyclists you will see.
