H's Guidebook

King’s Books on St. Helen in downtown Tacoma is one of our favorite places to spend time. We always get lost browsing the shelves- they sell new and used books alike, and strive to offer a wonderfully rich selection of books written by Black and Brown authors and LGBTQIA authors. They often have book readings and host events. Please check them out and tell Karen that Heather sent you! :)

Point Defiance is a beautiful location for everyone- adults, children, and dogs alike will be able to enjoy the various waterfront trails, Japanese garden, rose garden, and more! It is located next to the zoo and aquarium, so you can stay for the day. There is even a boat rental area if you want to row your boat... ;) It’s beautiful any time of year.

Top of Tacoma has delicious food, good drinks, an interesting blend of locals, and great music. They even have an old timey photo booth, so don’t forget to bring quarters!

People’s barber shop in Hilltop is the absolute best- the vibe is super chill, the barbers are awesome, and I always leave with an amazing razor design. As a queer person, I am always treated with respect and I greatly appreciate that.
