Hello and welcome to your home from home here in beautiful West Didsbury. I’ve put together a bit of information that should help you make the most from your stay.
Our apartment is ideally located for getting around the city. The metrolink station is less than 500m away on Burton Road with services to the city centre, Media City, Manchester Airport and many more. The metrolink runs 364 days of the year. Please see website for up to date timetables and routes http://www.metrolink.co.uk/
We are also ideally located 5 minutes the ‘busiest bus route in Europe’ with buses running to and from the city via the universities every few minutes. The nearest bus stop is on Palatine Road at the end of Lapwing Lane opposite the job centre on Palatine Road. You can also catch the number 43 bus to the airport from outside the job centre. This service runs 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. There is also the 111 on Burton Road that takes you to and from the city. For timetables and routes see www.tfgm.com
The nearest train station is located in East Didsbury or Burnage (both just over 1 mile away)

Fashionable West Didsbury has so much to offer. Whether you are here for the weekend or a longer stay there is something for everyone. Centred around Burton Road, there is a high concentration of independent shops, excellent restaurants and trendy bars. There are also great parks a little further afield in Didsbury Village, Fletcher Moss and Parsonage Gardens being by favourite! If you want to keep active during your stay, there are pay as you go fitness classes available at The Northern (corner of Lapwing Lane and Palatine Road) and also the iconic Withington Baths situated on Burton Road.

Breakfast. You’d be hard pushed to find a better breakfast locally than at Thyme Out Deli on Nell Lane. They serve everything from a traditional fry up (with duck eggs) to breakfast burritos and the delicious smashed avocado and feta and toast.

If you are looking for a lazy pub lunch, then The Metropolitan (The Met) on Lapwing Lane is a great place to while away the hours. The famous Met Burger is a winner and been known to cure many a hangover!! The also do a really good 2 course lunch offer

Folk Café Bar on Burton Road has a great menu with something to suit all tastes and nice heated outdoor seating area. They also have free Wi-Fi! This is a great ption for evening drinks too

A Taste of Honey make the most amazing sandwiches. You can pre order in the morning and collect your feast at lunchtime.

In West Didsbury you could eat somewhere different every night for a month and always be happy with your choice. My absolute favourite is Volta on Burton Road. The menu is mostly small plates of deliciousness!! Their Lebanese lamb chops are insane!! I’m drooling just thinking about the fried goats cheese with pickled beetroot and honey!!

Picolinos on Lapwing Lane is my go to Italian. Consistently good food and wine and they have a lovely heated terrace outside. They make a mean Spaghetti alle Vongole and their bruschetta sharing platter is divine!

I usually like to start a night with a few cocktails in The Drawing Room on Burton Road. This tiny bar has a great juke box and amazing selection of cocktails (selected cocktails are just £4 before 9pm). They make the best Caipirinha!! They also have a late license, make sure you get in before 11ish as it gets really busy
