Whitby - the jewel in the crown of the North Yorkshire coast - is 20 miles away : its a beautiful 30 minute drive across the beautiful moors, or you could take the steam train which is a short walk from the cottage. Whitby is regularly voted one of the top seaside destinations in the UK. Its great to visit all year round. There's something for everyone - great walks, Captain Cook's Memorial museum, the natural port and harbour, and climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey is something everyone should do! There are great shops, with lots of natural Whitby jet jewellery. Come and explore the connections to Dracula, or just have some fish and chips on the beach.

RHB is a really cute old fishing village. Every street twists and turns and are full of lovely cottages and shops. You can park at the top of down and walk down to the beach. If you get tired at the bottom there's plenty of places to refuel! we recommend sitting outside of The Cove coffee shop for a great sea view.

Traditional seaside town. We like to park at the front at North Bay, and then after spending time on the beach drive along the coast to the town with its harbour, restaurants and the popular South Bay with its donkeys on the beach. You can visit Scarborough Castle or go to the Scarborough outdoor theatre to see a band!
