Point Defiance has it all! A nature lovers paradise. This urban park has 760 acres to explore. The park includes a Zoo & Aquarium, the Rose Garden, Rhododendron Garden, beaches, trails, a boardwalk, Fort Nisqually, an off-leash dog park, and most notably a stand of old-growth forest.

The Tacoma Dome is great for concerts/events! Definitely check who is performing when you are planning your trip.

The world famous glass blower, Chihuly, is a tacoma native. This museum features his work along with other local glass blowers. If you'd like to take a quick look, there is a glass bridge where you can walk over the freeway where you can see Chihuly's work.

The history of Dune peninsula is absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend reading into the history of this park. Dune Peninsula has a real life chutes and ladders that kids (and adults) LOVE. Along with this there is a lovely walking trail with 360 degree views of the Puget Sound.

Dune Peninsula has a real life chutes and ladders that kids (and adults) LOVE. Along with this there is a lovely walking trail with 360 degree views of the Puget Sound.
Point Ruston has it all! After parking, there is a trail alongside the water with magnificent views of Mt Rainier and the Puget Sound. After walking, enjoy some local food. My favorite is Ice Cream Social! It is very easy to spend the entire day eating, exploring and shopping at Point Ruston.

My favorite is Ice Cream Social! It is very easy to spend the entire day eating, exploring and shopping at Point Ruston.
Ruston Mercantile is a locally owned business that sells vintage decor, custom furniture and gifts. Chantelle's work is featured inside! If you are inspired by the Timeless Craftsman, Ruston Mercantile is a must see.

Food scene
The Metropolitan market aka "the Met" is a local favorite. Plenty of ready to serve/cook meals are available. My favorite parts of the store is the flower market and the bakery. Their cookies are a must try!!

The Matador is located downtown and offers delicious food and drinks. If the adults need some solo time I highly recommend getting it here! The food and ambiance are relaxing and fun, especially love their margaritas.

Visiting the Proctor Farmers Market is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning. Plenty of local food, flowers and plants are sold here. Combine local foodies with local musicians and it makes for a magical Saturday morning.
