Off the beaten path
Ruins are great, and after, be sure to stop for a drink and snack a little further up the road at Coqui Coqui Resort and Spa. Juxtaposition of rustic ancient ruins and boujee chic! A rare find indeed! This Boutique Hotel in Coba is famous for its perfumería among other cool touches. We enjoyed a nut/seed pate, coconut shrimp, mushroom/cheese quesadillas, and Ceviche. All that, with a 🍺 each to start and bottle of wine came to a whopping $30 each including a decent tip!

located only a 1 minute walk from Playa Kaan condo, enjoy live music, great atmosphere and lovely food. My favourites (so far) include the Seafood Tower and the Shrimp Burrito (yummy and huge!)

The inspiration for Primo comes from a love of food, artisanal distillates, local craftsmanship and rustic, gourmet cuisine.
The green egg grill fuelled by local wood fills the air with aromatic smoke to create refined Mexican Fusion delights. Everything made fresh on the spot in the open air kitchen that, along with the street people watching, provides hours of entertainment.
Recreating the original essence of Playa Del Carmen, in a small space under a beautiful tree, and bring the authentic Mexican food where everything is cooked in wood oven, comals and grill, as has traditionally been done in most small towns of the country for centuries.
Located 10th and 14th, 2 blocks from Playa Kaan condo, Primo is a hip spot with warm and alluring ambience with incredible food. The art work that these chefs create is exquisite, the duck and pork being cooked underground, as it should be.
My favourites include, lamb barbacoa tacos, short ribs, low cooked suckling pig, smoky grilled shrimp from Campeche, and perfectly spiced pork belly. Try the smoky margarita too! Primo is wrapped up tight during the day.. ready to open 5pm! They have limited seating so best to book on Open Table.

A whole 2 min walk from Playa Kaan condo, Catch is a lovely rooftop restaurant. Great sushi rolls, spicy shrimp. Elevator to the top of the hotel and the views are spectacular!
