One of our favorite places to watch a sunset, The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is a breathtakingly beautiful place just north of Savannah. While the Refuge is massive and includes parts of Georgia and South Carolina, there is also a four mile loop that can be driven by car. You'll see all sorts of wildlife including lots of alligators, great blue herons, and seasonal bird life. Spottings have also included bald eagles, bobcats, coyotes, gopher tortoises, and snakes! Telfair Museums consists of 3 separate museums which are the oldest in the South! It includes the Telfair Museum of Art, a museum that opened in 1886, the Owen-Thomas House, a beautiful historic house museum with outstanding guided tours, and the gorgeous Moshe Safdie designed Jepson Center for the Arts. An excellent value and very high quality tours and exhibitions. And yes, the Bird Girl is at the Telfiar Academy!!
