The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The walls of granite rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart. The Flume Trail is a one-way, 2-mile loop starting at the check-in booths located in front of the Flume Building. The Short Trail/Rim Path is closed and the only option is to complete the full 2 mile loop in one direction. The entire loop takes approximately 1.5 hours and finishes at the Flume Building. The walk includes uphill walking and lots of stairs.

Take the Lincoln Woods Trail which immediately crosses a bridge over the East Branch Pemigewasset River. Follow Lincoln Woods Trail about 3.2 miles to Franconia Falls Trail which will be on your left. About a 1-1/2 hour hike to get to Franconia Falls
Trailhead and parking area are at the end of Georgiana Falls Road in Lincoln, NH. Take Hanson Farm Road from the west side of Rt. 3, 0.3 miles north of Rt. 93 at exit 33. Drive 0.1 miles, then continue straight onto Georgiana Falls Road. Continue another 0.1 miles to the end of the road and park on the right, in a small pull-off.
The obscure and scenic Georgiana Falls are an easy but relatively unknown hiking destination. The multitudes of cascades in addition to this 30-foot waterfall are very rewarding for the little effort required. Beyond Georgiana lies the wild Harvard Falls, one of the largest and most majestic waterfalls in the White Mountains.

This is a great, quiet place to spend a day on the Pemi River. A local favorite, but virtually unknown to visitors. Bring your beach chairs, a cooler and some cold drinks…and relax at this beautiful swimming area! It’s right up the road from the Lodge. Take a right onto Main Street, about 3/4 mile on the right, pull into Riverfront Condos (West Branch Rd). Take an immediate right and you’ll see a roundabout where the tennis courts are located. Park & swim!!
