an easy 15 minute drive away, Clifton Beach offers majestic views over the Tasman peninsula and is in itself a fantastic place to just visit, go for a walk, go for a swim in summer or just sit back, relax and soak in all that beauty. It's the local favourite surfing spot, too!

LOOKOUT:
a 20 minute drive away, Potters Hill is a small hidden gem. Known by mostly locals, it offers 360 degree views over Ralphs Bay, the Tasman peninsula, Bruny Island and Mount Wellington after a 5 minute walk from the car park. It also has a small labyrinth, installed by a local artist, to help calm down and go within. A picnic table and a bench is provided as well - so grab a coffee or a picnic (or takeaway at 'Touch of the Mo' just at the foot of the hill) and enjoy this marvellous spot! We recommend to take a jumper with you as well, it can be quite windy up there...

Ralphs Bay has amazing bioluminescent waters from time to time. Just walk down to Rokeby Beach when it’s dark, not even 5 minute walk from your accommodation. The water glows when it’s moving. If the water is very still, give it movement with your hands or feet.
Since it is a natural phenomenon, dependent on water temperature, tides and much more, it is not always visible! But if you’re lucky, you will experience this amazing magical glow!

To make the visit perfect, catch a ferry from Hobart's Brooke Street Pier. Mona also has a restaurant (called 'Faro', bookings only), a café offering coffee and wines from MONA’s own vineyard. Also beer from their own onsite brewery and a couple of easy food options in their yard.
