Neighbourhoods

Tay Ho District is known for housing Hanoi’s largest freshwater lake, called West Lake. It’s a huge body of water and surrounded by bars and cafes. What’s more, there are plenty of historic places of interest, five-star hotels, stylish restaurants, cafes, and nightlife venues that are worth exploring along the shoreline. It’s where the true ‘nightlife’ is in Hanoi. Whether you’re seeking a hidden cocktail bar, an all-night club, or a hidden street food vendor, it’s all here in Tay Ho. But let’s hear about Morag’s Mansion: Morag the Tortoise resided here for a number of years. Named after a Scottish lass, she is the namesake of this mansion and has been known to make appearances. She won’t be hanging around in your apartment though, so no worries there! You will, however, be able to easily find your way back home by typing in ‘Morag’s Mansion’ on Google Maps. She’s made sure of that! Morag’s Mansion is located down an alley (off the main road) meaning you’ll enjoy the comfort of being in the heart of Tay Ho without the noise! With a rooftop view providing 360 degree views of the Hanoi skyline, you need not even go out. But, we hope you do! Right outside your doorstep is street food, a Nordic-style bakery, Indian Restaurant, Dry Cleaners, Tailor, European grocery stores and a bar that makes the best martini in Hanoi! That’s just within the first 50 metres. The rest of Tay Ho is filled with world-class dining options. The apartment comes with all the amenities one could want whilst here in Hanoi including air conditioning, cold water filter, two bathrooms, two queen sized beds, TV, WiFi, couches, plates, cutlery, oven and a friendly house cleaner who will service the apartment twice per week. Your two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment will have all the amenities one could want during your stay here in Hanoi! Whether it be for a few days, or a few weeks, you’re at home in this apartment. Better yet, you’ll have assistance throughout your time here. Whether it be how to set up a sim card, where that Bun cha place Obama went to (there’s so-much-better out there), schools, cocktail bars or underground clubbing--Morag has got you! Friends of Morag’s Mansion are family so you’ll receive tailored information on what you’re looking for whilst here in Hanoi. Just sing out! Xoxo Morag

Get out of the Old Quarter! It's only good for 1-2 nights. Hit up Truc Bach for the most atmospheric (and fun) day/night. This is where it's at if you want Hanoian authenticity and some amazing food. Check in with Morag for her favourite spots. Oh yeah, and that guy crashed his plane into the lake here.

The most bespoke and authentic cocktail bar you'll find in Hanoi. Ask Morag for how to get a reservation. This bar is not to be missed!

YES TO STREET FOOD! Not only is this legit, it's also clean and serves literally some of the best Pho in Hanoi. A must visit and only a short stroll down the road.
