Food Scene

Get off the MRT at BEDOK and go right to Bedok Interchange Food Centre. You get to try all sorts of local favourites. Some of my personal loves are Inspiraisi (malay food)- try their Mee Soto/Bee Hoon Soto or mee rebus, Curry chicken noodles, Bedok Chwee Kueh - a popular breakfast food, Lee Kee goreng pisang (fried bananas) and much more.. not overrated like the touristy and overpriced Newton Food Centre.

Located in the Kembangan neighbourhood, Fresh Fruits Lab is a must-visit for folks who are staying in the East of Singapore. It is a bright and cheerful spot that is tastefully designed to a laboratory theme. Think iced water served in beakers, and fruit juices served in test tubes and conical flasks. The menu is also specially designed to incorporate a fruity element; even their side salads for the main courses come with generous chunks of fresh fruits.

The coconut based gravy with noodles is one of the best here! Highly raved by Laksa lovers all over Singapore, this particular 328 Katong Laksa stall is believed to be the original Katong Laksa, and I believe its name can speak for itself. The laksa noodles are cut into short lengths and only requires a single spoon to eat. Add cockles or not. Tell the owner - Ai Ham (means u want cockles, Mai Ham means no cockles please) Read more: http://sethlui.com/must-try-places-eat-katong-east-coast-singapore/#ixzz4FOi4CAy6

Drinks & Nightlife

The Robertson Quay lines the Singapore River. Plenty of restaurants, wine bars and pubs for you to check out. Some of my personal favorites are Epicurious at 60 Robertson Quay, Jumbo Restaurant for Chili Crabs and Black Pepper Crabs, Brussel Sprouts for clams and mussels with free flow of fries, Ippudo SG for Japanese Ramen.. While you're there, take a walk around Liang Court - Try the japanese desserts in the Tan Po Po and better still, have chicken collagen soup at Bijin Nabe by Tsukada Nojo at B1 of Liang Court. It is supposed to give u supple and smooth skin after that.

Sightseeing

I absolutely love the zoo and it's shows! Go take a look and you'll know why. While you're at it, go visit the pandas at the river safari (newest addition to the zoo family) and later at night, visit the night safari! That's when animals wake and move around. It's fun. You need to get on the tram to see more animals.

It is an integrated resort fronting the Marina Bay in Singapore. The building is huge, there is an infinity pool on the top floor of the hotel. There are also plenty of notable restaurants such as Sky on 57, Waku Ghin, Punjab Grill, Cut by Wolfgang Puck. Check out the marina bay sands website for more information. They may have shows that you would want to watch. I just watched Les Miserables. It was awesome! The city night view from the marina bay is really breathtaking.. Walk around the esplanade as well, the durian looking building, take a walk around the fullerton and clifford pier too. Basically, u need to get walking!

There are two airconditioned conservatories (solar powered) - Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. The Cloud Forest is higher but slightly smaller at 0.8 hectares (2.0 acres). It replicates the cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions between 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) and 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) above sea level, found in South-East Asia, Middle- and South America. It features a 42-metre (138 ft) "Cloud Mountain", accessible by an elevator, and visitors will be able to descend the mountain via a circular path where a 35-metre (115 ft) waterfall provides visitors with refreshing cool air. The "Cloud mountain" itself is an intricate structure completely clad in epiphytes such as orchids, ferns, peacock ferns, spike- and clubmosses, bromeliads and anthuriums. It consists of a number of levels, each with a different theme. The Flower Dome is the lower but larger of the two, at 1.2 hectares (3.0 acres). It replicates a mild, dry climate and features plants found in the Mediterranean and other semi-arid tropical regions (e.g. parts of Australia, South America, South Africa). The Flower Dome is 38 metres (125 ft) high and maintains a temperature between 23 °C and 25 °C, slightly lower at night. The Flower Dome features seven different "gardens" as well as an olive grove with a bistro and a central changing display field has also been incorporated to enable flower shows and displays to be held within the conservatory. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden. The largest of the gardens is Bay South Garden at 54 hectares (130 acres). Gardens by the Bay is part of a strategy by the Singapore government to transform Singapore from a "Garden City" to a "City in a Garden". The stated aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city. The supertree grove resembles the landscape in the movie Avatar. They are tree-like structures that are between 25m to 50m in height. The supertrees are home to vines, ferns, orchids and other plants. The trees also harness solar energy. While you're there, try out Singapore's McDonald Breakfast. I swear it's good.. Flavours are constantly updated. My personal favorite is the McGriddles with hotcake sauce.

Take a walk around Little India. There's a mega huge shopping centre called Mustafa and it's open 24 hours. You can buy anything you want there. I say, get your souvenirs here. Be careful when you're crossing the roads. I say, always bargain to get the best prices. Try Banana Leaf for their yummy indian food at Racecourse Road, Komala Villas and Ananda Bhavan at Tekka Market for their vegetarian food.
