For a family restaurant that has a huge choice for breakfast, this is one of my favorite places locally. Their crepes and skillets are worthy of giving them a try. I like the gourmet skillet (chicken, veggies with fresh asparagus and hollandaise sauce)

This is another favorite breakfast / early lunch place. It is just outside the reach of Joliet but still convenient to get to. If you CRAVE sweetness, then their "special stuffed french toast " should be in your view - its loaded with fresh fruit and drizzled with caramel sauce and lots of sweet cream cheese inside - be ready to go to the gym for a month to recover lol.

If you ever felt the desire to take a flying lesson, go to a car show or their yearly airplane show, then give them a shout. I learned how to fly on this short runway airport. It is located on the west side just up the street from Joliet Junior College. They have helicopter service and training there as well.

Enjoy racing / stock cars / funny cars and Nascar. Then Rt 66 raceway needs to be on your to-do list.

For local concerts / comics / theatre then the Rialto is a fun stop. This is a small venue that the big names hit often when they come though the area - Im shocked sometimes of who preforms at this small venue.

This OLD prison was the home for a lot of Americas most famous criminals - It has recently been purchased by a entertainment company and renovating it - but some of it is open to the public for tours of this famous haunted prison.

The Amtrak and Metra both are just a few minutes away
If your wanting to experience Chicago without the drama of traffic and PARKING, then the Metra is the easiest and cheapest method. The Joliet Metra station is located just on the East side of the river (your on the West) but there is plenty of parking and we have uber / taxi that will not cost you an arm and a leg to get there as well.
The same train station has Amtrak which will also get you into Chicago but in a different area of the city - check out the websites to see where you want your Chicago Experience to begin.
