Land of Yankee Fork State Park
24424 State Hwy 75Explore local mining history close to town.
Grab some sandwiches at the 7C Junction and head west on Highway 75 towards Stanley and turn off the highway when you reach Sunbeam and head up the Yankee Fork of the Salmon River. The Dredge and the remains of the historic mining town of Bonanza and Custer will be found a few miles up the road. Continue on the road past Custer and the Custer Motorway (summer and early fall travel only) will bring you back to Challis.

Yankee Fork Gold Dredge

The south peak of the iconic Twin Peaks is home to one of the many fire lookouts in Idaho. To road to the top is narrow and rocky. It is a great trip but make sure your vehicle is suitable for the trip.
