The best place to pick up a Spiedie Sandwich. We’re not quite sure why or how they get their Spiedies so good, but it’s worth the drive. They also have great shoe-string fries and perogies.

A great place set alongside the river to enjoy great diner food. Breakfasts are tasty and their Gyros are delicious.

Our first night there was Prom Night. We’ve made it back to this former firehouse to enjoy a bit of nostalgia and delicious food. They don’t offer the Steak Diane anymore, but if you ask Chef real nice and add a great story, he may be inclined to satisfy your palette.

Another great diner that has "history" on the Parkway. They say a famed mob boss conducted some shady meetings here for the regional syndicate. They also have a slow roasted beef sandwich that's hard to believe, too and they’re open really late.

First Friday's of every month. Yes, even the bitterly cold ones. Local shops on State street in Binghamton open their doors and invite you inside to sample a little bit of everything. Orazio Salati Studio is one of them and is host to many beautiful and talented artists. We might be a little biased, as Mr. Salti was my art instructor for many years.

Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena will become the new home of the Binghamton Devils as of 2017. If you like hockey, then this will be the place to be as the American Hockey League hands us yet another hockey team to cheer.
The Arena also hosts a variety of events such as wrestling, NBA exhibition games and musical entertainment. The Arena is located in downtown Binghamton about 2½ miles away.

If dirt drifting, speed is the kind of action you’re looking for then Five Mile Point is your ticket. The track is just 5 miles
away. Just watch your speed over there. The New York State Police and Broome County sheriff are right around the corner.

NYSEG Stadium is another venue that will be introducing a new franchise in 2017. The Rumbling Ponies will be Binghamton’s new Minor League Baseball team. They kick off their season in April. The stadium is also located near downtown Binghamton about 2 miles away.

Ross Park Zoo is a quieter alternative to the sporting venues in the area. Ross Park sits tucked into the northern face of Binghamton’s South Mountain. The zoo officially opened in 1875, and it is the fifth oldest zoological institution in the country. It has seen the best of times in the age of industrial revolution and the worst of times as the age of travel brought decreased revenue for the park. Ross Park has overcome overwhelming adversity in its nearly 150 years and undergone tremendous changes with the help of the Southern Tier Zoological Society. What was once asphalt, concrete and steel bars is now winding wooded paths with naturalistic exhibits housing over 100 different species.
