One thing about Maine, lobster rolls can be good or bad depending on the restaurant. This is not a sit down place, so you will have to get your lobster roll to go, but they do a great job with Maine lobster rolls, which is the chilled mayo & lobster variety. It is owned by lobster fisherman. 579 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401 If you want the BEST lobster roll with LOTS of lobster meat, go to the Eagles Nest in Brewer.

Paddy Murphys is a great pub that has a nice Irish feel and some days they have music! The variety of cheeseburgers are amazing, and I think burgers are really the best here! 26 Main St, Bangor, ME 04401

I like Guiness on tap, but since they only have cans here I recommend the Irish Stout. lf you like ground lamb, their shepherds pie is quite flavorful! They also have burgers, salad, buffalo wings and fish chowder, which I cannot wait to try!

Delightful place to order a rich and creamy classic New England style clam chowder. if you order the grilled salmon- it mentions this on the menu --- it always comes well done, which means overcooked. If you would like it medium to medium rare-- you must tell them that otherwise they will overcook your fish; barring this, a great local sit down seafood restaurant.

Several trails and oh so beautiful with all of the trees surrounding you. If it's not a hot day, walk around the Orono bog. No tree shade on hot days, so only recommend the bog walk when it's cooler. 54 Tripp Dr, Bangor, ME 04401, Or if you are on Stillwater, you can just turn on Kittredge and follow the road to the right.

Reminds me of a smaller version of San Francisco's PIER39 without all of the tourists. Great walking along the harbor as well! About an hour and a half to get therem, but what a nice drive! Make sure you call it "Bahabah!" like the locals do! :)

Very close by, thousands of people take a photo in front of prolific author Stephen King's house in Bangor. Stephen King has written The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Body (the movie, Stand by Me was based on), as well as many popular horror books.
