Live After 5 every Friday!! Live music fills the city each weekend, and you're sure to find tunes to listen to in every neighborhood throughout the city. Starting on Sept. 16, game weekends will kick off with Live After Five, a free concert series held on Friday evenings from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in downtown Baton Rouge. This year’s Live After Five lineup will feature some local favorites, ranging in genre from blues to 90s covers, and believe us, live music and picturesque views of the Mississippi River are the perfect start to an amazing weekend.

Geaux see Mike the Tiger!! Anyone from Louisiana can tell you that Saturday nights are for football. Specifically, LSU football. And there is no better way to experience college football than in LSU’s own Tiger Stadium, more commonly known as Death Valley. Tiger Stadium is the loudest stadium in the South, with cheers so loud that it has registered as an earthquake! Visitors can schedule a tour to walk through the stadium and feel the magic of Death Valley themselves.
Near Tiger Stadium is the luxurious habitat of LSU’s beloved mascot, Mike the Tiger. Mike is the only living tiger on a college campus, and he is often seen running, playing or napping in his home. If you’re lucky, he may even pose for a photo! There is also an official LSU gift shop right next to his habitat so you can buy your own fluffy Mike the Tiger souvenir to bring home.

Wildlife is plentiful at Bluebonnet Swamp, including hundreds of bird species utilizing the site throughout the year. Birders can view seasonal species during peak migrations, as well as year-round residents.
While snakes and turtles are commonly seen from the trails, raccoons, rabbits, opossums, armadillos, squirrels, foxes, coyotes, deer and otter are also known to inhabit the site. Nature programs and environmental education are conducted throughout the year including educational group tours, live animal encounters, holiday and summer day camps, toddler activities, birding walks, field trips and special events.
